Hi.

I've just downloaded Grappling Hook demo, but i don't have sound (libopenal is installed). Log from console says nothing about this issue:
Quote
./start.sh
levels_normal.sav does not exist!
extra_levels_normal.sav does not exist!

Well...i was forced to switch from Fedora to Ubuntu 8.04 (ATi proprietary drivers works on this Ubuntu - i have legacy ATi X1250).

So:

Operating system is Ubuntu 8.04 and name of the of this libs is libopenal0a 1:0.0.8-7 (maybe old, but this is Long Term Support version of Ubuntu).

This OpenAL-Version is very old.
Probably there where some major changes in the library or the name of the library has changed.
Grappling Hook is looking for a library called "libopenal.so.1" or "libopenal.so.0".

I test every Grappling Hook version on Ubuntu 9.10 to verify everything is fine.
The recommended libopenal1 version on Ubuntu 9.10 is 1:1.8.466-2.
This is also quite old ( current version is 1.11.753), but I can assure that Grappling Hook works with it.

I hope this information helps. Smiley
